 While the show is now cancelled and Bruse Campbell has declared his disassociation, the open-ended final episode leaves plenty to be discussed.
Having finally defeated Kandar the destroyer, Ash appears to have been rescued by the return of the Knights of Sumeria, only to find his hand replaced and a post-apocalyptic environment.

With no clue to the fate of his friend Pablo and previously unknown daughter Brandy, Ash sets out to uncover the truth behind his current situation and reunite with his loved ones.

This begs a number of questions, as the augmented Sumerian knight only states that "not everything was destroyed," implying that the evil survived and annihilated human society while Ash was in a coma. She also claims that the dark ones are moving once more and as the chosen one, it is Ash's duty to defeat them again.
Unfortunately, with the series cancellation and no imminent plans for any continuation of the story, we may never learn what happened or how the future of Ash, Brandy and the world of the Evil Dead might pan out.
